Today, Wednesday, Tristram Hunt, Labour’s Shadow
Education Secretary, was in Lincoln to visit the pioneering Hartsholme Academy.
Joined by Labour’s candidate, Lucy Rigby, Tristram was shown round the school by headteacher, Carl Jarvis and met with staff and students.
Following the visit Tristram said: "Visiting Hartsholme Academy with Labour's candidate Lucy Rigby this morning, I was inspired by the brilliant leadership at the school. This is a pioneering school delivering first rate education.
"Labour is committed to protecting the entirety of the education budget, protecting early years, schools and 16-19 education. That's what people in Lincoln will be voting for if they choose Lucy Rigby at the election."
Lucy Rigby added: "I really enjoyed welcoming Tristram Hunt to Lincoln again, this time to visit Hartsholme Academy - one of our really good local primaries.
"Labour have set out a clear plan in our manifesto to ensure all teachers are qualified so our children get the best quality education. We will also scrap poorly performing Free Schools to allow us to put resources where they are most needed and cap class sizes for five, six and seven-year-olds at 30 pupils or under.”
