Investment will put Corby on the sporting map - Bradshaw

Phil Hope MP and Ben Bradshaw MP The investment currently being spent to upgrade the Rockingham Triangle multi-sport complex will help to put Corby on the sporting map according to Labour's Sports Secretary, Ben Bradshaw MP, who visited the site yesterday, Thursday 25th February.

Ben, who was accompanied on the visit by Corby's Labour MP, Phil Hope, was shown the plans for the redevelopment of the site and also met with local athletes whilst on a tour of the grounds.

Ben said: "I have met some incredibly talented young athletes here today and they have all told me how important this investment and upgrade is for them, their clubs and also for the wider community of Corby Town.

"Sport plays such an important role in helping to keep us all fit and healthy and by making sure that we invest in facilities such as the Rockingham Triangle, we can ensure that people of all ages have access to sporting activities in years to come."

Phil Hope added: " The impact of recent investment has brought some astonishing transformations to our town over the last 13 years. We have made huge investments in health, education, transport and sporting facilities. But we can't stop yet, there is still much more that needs to be done.

"The redevelopment of the Rockingham Triangle highlights what more can be achieved to bring about improvements for the people of this town and we need to make sure that this investment continues and that Corby doesn't get abandoned again."
